      Overall the Subaru Impreza has been a good car for me. Always starts and runs well with no major troubles but one. The only serious trouble is the infamous Subaru head gasket oil leak. Started leaking at about 80000 miles. It also unfortunately drips onto the exhaust system. This trouble has been one of Subarus long standing problems and I'm surprised they haven't been able to fix this by now.

      Bought the car new for 20k. The 08'-11's have a known paint issue. If you think I'm making it up just Google it. Subaru was aware of it and issued a dealer applied fix. Wasn't really a fix just a clear protective sticker. We complained and got a $2500 refund check. Other than that it's a stone reliable car. Just get in it and turn the key. It never let us down. Sold it at 226k miles. Make sure you replace the timing belt around 100k miles. If it breaks it will bend a valve and ruin your engine. Motor is smooth and throaty. Mileage is average. About 25-30mpg. The interior is well built. Feels quality, no annoying squeaks or rattles. All wheel drive gives you confidence. Great little car if it wasn't for the paint issue.

      Great car if the major maint didn't cost so much. I liked the large interior space good head room for a tall guy. It could of used a 6-speed, but 5-speed was adequate. Rear tires look funny because they don't sit straight up they are at an angle. Phenomenal in the snow and ice with all-season tires. Replaced TimingBelt, headgaskets, water pump, tuneup cost @ 105k $2000 Replaced Clutch at 90K $600
